Implementing these six habits into your morning routine will set you up for a super productive and positive day. They don’t have to take you hours, just create a routine that’s right for you. It’s true what they say, “if you win the morning, you win the day”.

Silence

Set yourself some time to appreciate the silence. You can sit and meditate, or do a walking meditation. The Calm App is a great introduction to mindfulness meditation and features a guided meditation for any occasion.

Affirmations

Affirmations play an key role by breaking patterns of negative thinking and in turn, negative actions. They are short, powerful statements in which you can verbalise your goals. Here’s a great article from Huffington Post to help get you started.

Visualisation

Some of the most successful people in the world have named visualisation as an essential component to their success. “For example, if you want a certain car, visualising the experience of driving it would mean “seeing” the colours, the materials, all the premium upgrades of the interior. You would “feel” the seat contoured to your body, the wheel in your hands, and the power of the pedals under your feet. And of course, that coveted new car smell. The power of visualisation comes from a kind of “prepping” of the brain. Your brain doesn’t really understand the difference between actually experiencing something and imagining something.”

Exercise

Starting your day with a little exercise will get your heart rate up and make you feel energised by waking up the body. This will help you feel more alert and focused throughout the day. Some
great resources for a 20 min work out can be found on Youtube. Tailor your workout to what you enjoy from yoga to high intensity training.

Reading

Grab a self-development book and read. We recommend investing in the Blinkist App on mobile which lets you read the key lessons from over 2500+ nonfiction books in 15 min or fewer. It even
has the option to listen to the audio version. Starting your day by discovering something new makes you feel good – you may even want to implement your leaning into your day!

Scribing

Buy a journal and scribble down your thoughts, you can even write a few lines about what your grateful for to fill your brain with positivity. Journaling helps increase self awareness and as a bonus, makes you more articulate.
